FAIRMONT — A memorial visitation for Hazel M. Clark, age 101, of Fairmont, Minn., will be held 4-6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 17, 2020, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont. Inurnment will be at a later date in Glenwood Cemetery, Mankato, Minn.

Hazel passed away Tuesday morning, Feb. 11, 2020, at her home in Fairmont.

Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Hazel Melba (Hawk) Clark was born Aug. 11, 1918, in Freeborn County, Minn., the daughter of Theodore and Effie Mae (Hartley) Hawk. She attended Kiester Public School and graduated from Kiester High School in 1936.

On Aug. 10, 1946, Hazel was united in marriage to Robert Clark at her parents’ home in North Mankato, Minn. The couple resided in Mankato, St. Paul and Albert Lea before moving to Fairmont in 1958.

Hazel worked numerous part-time stenographic jobs as well as working as a secretary at Robert’s office from 1958 until their retirement in 2006. The couple shared over 73 years together.

Hazel was a member of Business Professional Women for many years.

During her free time, Hazel enjoyed reading as well as having Robert beside her while tending to their flower and vegetable garden, canning gooseberry jam, and taking walks together.

Left to cherish her memory include her husband, Robert Clark of Fairmont; niece, Darlene Carlstrom and her family of Phoenix, Ariz.; brother-in-law, James Clark and his family of Rexford, N.Y.

Along with her parents, Theodore and Effie Mae, Hazel was preceded in death by one brother; and two sisters.
