FREMONT — Mary E. Honken, age 74, of Fremont, Neb., died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2020, in Omaha. A funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, 2020, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Fremont. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment at Calvary Cemetery, Fremont.

She was born Aug. 27, 1945, in Winnebago, Minn., to Hank and Valeria (Goraczkowski) Stauffer. Mary grew up in Winnebago.

She married Roger Honken on July 17, 1965. They lived in Minneapolis, Minn., Lincoln, Neb., and then, Fremont. Mary worked at Excel in Schuyler, Neb., Montgomery Ward, Hy-Vee and 3M in Valley.

She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Fremont, VFW Post 854 Auxiliary and the Fremont Eagles Club.

She is survived by son, Mark Honken; daughters, Amy (Brett) Wilbur, and Angela Honken, all of Fremont; brothers, Stanley Stauffer of Minnesota, Steve (Joyce) Stauffer of Texas, Leo (Annette) and Joe (Nancy) Stauffer all of Minnesota; sisters, Linda (Bob) Terhurne, Susan Collins, Irene (Doug) Hancock, and sister-in-law, Carol Stauffer, all of Minnesota; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roger 4/12/2017; brother, John Stauffer; sisters, Jean Marsh and Louise Stauffer.
