VENICE, Fla. — Ronald Gene Roslansky, 83, passed away Sunday, Dec. 15, 2019, in Fort Wayne, Ind. A memorial service will be held Thursday, Dec. 26, 2019, at D.O. McComb and Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home.

He was born Aug. 2, 1936, in Lakefield, Minn. He graduated in 1954 from Fairmont High School in Minnesota. Ron served in the U.S. Air Force starting in 1954 and served in Africa and Germany. He retired from the Air Force in 1958 while stationed in Nebraska.

Ron married Marlys Ann Gentz in 1958 in Lakefield, Minn. He then went to Mankato State University and received his BS in 1961 in Math and Business.

Ron spent most of his career working for NCR in mainframe computer sales. He continued to advance within NCR, rising to area vice president in Chicago.

Ron retired in 1997 and spent the rest of his years in Venice, Fla., and Clear Lake, Ind. He belonged to the Plantation Golf and Country Club in Venice and was a member of the Friendly’s.

Ron enjoyed volunteering with the Plantation Community Foundation and he loved playing golf, hunting, fishing, cribbage and his grandchildren.

Ron and Marlys would have celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on Dec. 28.

Ron was preceded in death by his father, Michael; and his mother, Laura (Roslansky) Hudson.

He is survived by his wife Marlys; brothers, Roger and Bill Roslansky; daughters, Lona (Roslansky) and Dr. John Pritchard and Lora (Roslansky) and Tony Eckrich; grandchildren, Chelsea (Pritchard) Sharpless and Marcus Sharpless, Nick Prichard and Emerald (Eviston) Pritchard, Nathan Prichard, Rachel Jolley and Kelly Jolley.

Ron was known for his quick wit, his infectious smile and humor and his compassionate spirit.

The family would like to thank Tom Kelley and his pilots for arranging Ron to be home with his family and visiting nurse, and Hospice Home staff for their kindness and care while Ron was there.
