ORMSBY — A Celebration of Life service for Lawrence “Larry” A. Schmoldt, 91, of rural Ormsby will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Laird Funeral Home in Elgin, Ill. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park Cemetery, Elgin, Ill. Schmoldt died Monday morning, Nov. 4, 2019, at Mayo Clinic Health System in St. James. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home in Elgin, Ill.

Kramer Family Funeral Home of Trimont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Lawrence Albert Schmoldt was born in Hanover Township, rural Elgin, Ill., to Alfred and Gertrude (Gnekow) Schmoldt.

Survivors include: his wife, Pat Schmoldt of rural Ormsby; sons, Larry Schmoldt of Prescott Valley, Ariz., David Schmoldt of Elgin, Ill., Douglas Welty of Crest Hill, Ill.; daughters, Kathy Thurow of Meritt Island, Fla., Sherrie Zabran of Maquoketa, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; brother, William Schmoldt of St. Charles, Ill.; and sister, Margene Absolon of Crystal Falls, Mich.
