FAIRMONT — A memorial service for Marcelene M. Meyer, age 84, of Fairmont, Minn., will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019, at Lakeview Funeral Home Chapel in Fairmont, with inurnment at Fairview Memorial Park, Fairmont.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Saturday at Lakeview Funeral Home.

Marcelene passed away Wednesday morning, Oct. 30, 2019, at Seasons Health Care in Trimont, Minn.

Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Marcelene Mae (Buchmeier) Meyer was born Dec. 6, 1934, in Fairmont, Minn., the daughter of Henry and Ella (Barvels) Buchmeier. She received her education in Fairmont and graduated from Fairmont High School.

On June 4, 1952, Marcelene was united in marriage to Marland Meyer in Fairmont, where they continued to share their lives together. This union was blessed with three daughters: Loni, Lynn and Lina. Marcelene and Marland shared over 65 years together before Marland passed away on Feb. 19, 2018.

Marcelene worked at various jobs including Koenig’s, JCPenney as well as over 34 years at Stokely-Van Camp.

She was a long-time member of Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont.

Marce enjoyed reading and working on word search puzzles but her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Loni Meyer of Fairmont, Minn., Lynn (S.D.) Heidecker of Mankato, Minn., Lina (William) Wiebe of Fairmont; grandchildren, Nicholas (Lisa Mutchler) Heidecker, Nathan (Jennifer) Heidecker, Ariel (John Thell) Wiebe, and Marcus Wiebe; many other extended family and friends.

Along with her parents, Henry and Ella Buchmeier, Marcelene was preceded in death by her husband, Marland Meyer; grandson, Joshua; sister, Joyce Probst; and brothers, Roy Buchmeier, Harold Buchmeier, and Henry “Hank” Buchmeier.
