Robert D. Holmseth Jr.
BRICELYN — Robert “Butch” D. Holmseth Jr. passed away Sunday, Oct. 27, 2019, at United Hospital District in Blue Earth. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, 2019, at South Blue Earth Lutheran Church in Bricelyn. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2019, at South Blue Earth Lutheran Church, and one hour prior to services Thursday. Web tributes may be left at www.pattonfh.com.
Butch was born Sept. 16, 1955, in Fairmont, Minn., to Robert and Lorraine (Knoll) Holmseth. He attended Bricelyn schools. Butch worked for over 25 years as a police officer, eventually serving as chief of police for the Bricelyn area. He also owned Butch’s Bar and Grill in Frost, worked at Don’s Fleet Supply in Blue Earth for over 25 years, and worked as a federal security guard for over five years in Fairmont. Butch enjoyed anything outdoors with friends and family. He especially liked fishing for muskies, deer hunting, and four-wheeling. Butch also liked playing darts and watching sporting events. He was extremely proud of his family, especially of his daughters and grandchildren. Butch will be missed by his three daughters, Jennifer (Layne) McCleary of Blue Earth, Delanie (Michael) Reller of Minnetonka, and Nicolette (David) Abel of Eden Prairie; sister, Patti Holmseth of Albert Lea; and five grandchildren, Logan and Madeline McCleary, Duke Reller, Hallie and Davison Abel.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
