On July 22, 1978, the world became a brighter place with the birth of Holly Suzanne (Schultze) Brummond. She was welcomed home by her parents, Roger L. Schultze and Marilyn L. (Nelson) Schultze. Holly received her education attending school at Fairmont and Martin County West and graduated from Martin County West High School.

She had a passion for helping others, so it wasn’t a surprise when she began taking classes at Minnesota West Community and Technical College and earned her nursing degree.

On Sept. 9, 2000, Holly was united in marriage to John Brummond on the family farm near Granada, Minn., in a beautiful ceremony surrounded by family, friends and nature.

Holly worked and cared for many people in her short career as a registered nurse. She had most recently worked for the Mayo Clinic in Fairmont, where her bond with colleagues turned to friendships and a second family, she called her, “Mayo Family.” This family would prove important when Holly was diagnosed with cancer. The love and support they showed her and her immediate family was never ending.

Holly was a faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Truman, was a member of Truman Pride, loved to cheer on the Jaguars, and was a devoted member of the cancer support group.

Holly had a zest for life and loved the adventure of traveling to new places and seeing new things. She was competitive and jumped at the chance to play games with family and friends and loved the excitement and sounds of the amusement park rides. Holly will be greatly missed by those who loved her and called her a friend.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, John Brummond; daughter, Ainsley Brummond; mother, Marilyn Schultze; father, Roger Schultze; mother-in-law, Roxy Brummond; four siblings, Jenny (Rodney) Tow, Bryan Schultze, Tammy (Ed) Sherwood, and Kimberly (Mike) Newville; sister-in-law, Julie (Jon) Olson; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, awesome friends and a second daughter, Miah Krebs.

Holly was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Ernest Brummond; maternal grandparents, Frederick and Muriel Nelson; and paternal grandparents, Edwin and Delores Schultze.
