BLUE EARTH — Joshua Lee Jahnke, age 37, of Blue Earth, passed away Friday, Aug. 16, 2019, at his sister’s home surrounded by family. A celebration of life in honor of Josh will be held 11 a.m. Oct. 5, 2019, at Patton Funeral Home in Blue Earth, with Pastor Russ Jacobsen officiating.

A time for visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10-11 a.m. Oct. 5 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Blue Earth. Web tributes may be left at www.pattonfh.com

Josh was born Dec. 21, 1981, in Mankato, Minn., to Lee and Kim (Olson) Jahnke. He received his education from Blue Earth Area High School, graduating in 2001.

In October 2011, Josh was united in marriage to Heidi Tjelle. The couple resided in Buffalo Center, Iowa. His passions in life included: watching the Vikings, Hawkeyes and Twins; hunting; fishing; and, most of all, spending time with his family. Josh loved all outdoor sports. He also loved playing video games with his nephews.

He is survived by his children, Hayley Jahnke of Blue Earth, Bruk Sonnickson of Blue Earth and Maci Ludewig of Buffalo Center, Iowa; parents, Lee and Kim; sister, Alicia (Shaun) Ober; nephews, Tridyn, Ian and Preston Ober; aunt, Paula Snyder; uncles, Dean (Sue) Jahnke, Randy (Robin) Olson, Jeff Olson, Jay Olson and Chad Olson; grandparents, Lorman “Bub” and Beverly Jahnke, Neil and Mary Jane Taylor; and many cousins and extended family.

Josh was preceded in death by his uncle, Mark Snyder; grandparents, Dennis and Mavis Olson; and great-grandparents, Fred and Eunice Reiffer, Florence LaMont, and Curtis and Selma Olson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to his parents, Lee and Kim Jahnke and his sister, Alicia Ober.
