Clarice Lorraine Berg was born Christmas Day, Dec. 25, 1933, in Trimont, Minn., to Arthur Glen and Clara (Gulden) Folz. Clarice always joked she made her mom miss Christmas dinner that day. She graduated from Sherburn High School in 1950 and in 1951, married the love of her life, James Berg, enjoying 68 wonderful years together before James passed away last month. Together they resided in Trimont, Elmore, Granada, Northrop and Winnebago.

Clarice worked at several jobs in her life, including clerking at Fischer Drug Store in Elmore and My Fair Lady clothing store in Winnebago, which allowed her to meet and make many friends in those communities. Her positive fun attitude and kindness endeared herself to others. She was an active member of the Methodist Church and participated in bowling leagues, card clubs, golf events, and countless neighborhood coffee parties. She had a lifelong affection for cardinals, the color red and golfer Phil Mickelson.

Clarice loved to laugh and tease and greeted everyone with a big smile. She was an incredible mother and wife and liked anything her husband and children were interested in, including the Twins, family gatherings, country music and happy hour anywhere. She and her husband loved to dance the Lindy, sometimes apparently doing so until the early morning hours. She enjoyed trips to see family in California and Las Vegas, to watch the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, and took several cruises in the Caribbean. Her children will miss her FaceTime calls and daily texts.

Clarice is survived by her daughter, Deana (Ron) Riley of North Mankato; her son, Jim (Debbie) of Minneapolis; a very special sister, Rose (Chunk) Levik of Buffalo Center, Iowa; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Jim; her parents, Arthur Glen and Clara (Gulden) Folz of Sherburn; sisters, Evelyn (George) Cook of Truman, Ruth (Donald) Landin of Sherburn, and Margaret Kummrow of Ceylon.
