Deloris Sabin was born Jan. 31, 1933, in the Truman area, daughter of Walter and Lydia Wegner. She graduated from Truman High School in 1952.

Deloris married Richard “Dick” Sabin on Nov. 20, 1954, in Blue Earth.

Deloris worked as a secretary for the Faribault County Highway Department for a number of years. She continued work at St. Luke’s Care Center as a nurse’s aide and also in the laundry area.

She was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where she volunteered in Circle Groups and Altar Guild.

She enjoyed supporting the American Legion and was a member of the women’s auxiliary. Playing cards (bridge, 500, hand and foot), staying fit through walking and country music were also some of the things she loved, but she most enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

She will be remembered for her remarkable strength and compassionate soul. Above all, she had an unwavering faith with an enthusiastic spirit for life.

Deloris was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Those who knew her were blessed by her warm acceptance and genuine caring spirit.

Deloris is survived by her daughter, Roben (Ed) Schwen of Rochester; son, Jim (Jimetta) Sabin of Blue Earth; two granddaughters, Kristin Schwen, and Jenny (Chris) Kurtz; four great-grandchildren, Taylor, Emma, Kaitlyn and Phillip; brother, Derrel (Judy) Wegner; sisters, Lois Cook, Linda (Jerry) Schroeder and Carleen (Steve) Leeder; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband; daughter, Lori; parents; sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Devere Boettcher; and brother-in-law, David (Lois) Cook.

Staff at St. Luke’s Care Center showed Mom loving care and understanding since 2013. This sincere help has been deeply felt by her family members and we could not be more thankful to all staff members involved with her care. Memorials to St. Luke’s Care Center are greatly appreciated.
