Franklin Harry Scheff was born June 17, 1923, in Sherburn, Minn., the son of Frank and Matilda (Kahler) Scheff. He received his education attending school in Ceylon, Minn. Frank served with the Army Corp of Engineers for a short time before receiving his medical discharge due to bronchial asthma.

Frank decided to celebrate his 21st birthday in a big way when he was united in marriage to Betty Jean Watkins at the Lutheran church in Ceylon, Minn. Frank worked as a mechanic at the Rudy Gimm car dealership in addition to working at Fallon’s Ag and driving pop truck in Fairmont. For over 23 years, he worked at Railway Motors before driving the Chicago truck route for Armour Foods. He retired at the age of 62.

Frank was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fairmont.

In his spare time, he enjoyed driving the countryside and tinkering. Frank had a knack for fixing things and when someone needed a hand, they knew who to call.

He loved music and dancing and looked forward to days spent on the golf course with Betty and his grandson, Jason.
