MINNEAPOLIS — Marcia K. Peterson, 75, of Minneapolis passed away Thursday, July 4, 2019, at The Emeralds of St. Paul Care Center. A funeral mass will be held 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 16, at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Sherburn, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be held at a later date.

Marcia was born March 25, 1944, in Sherburn, Minn., to Marjorie (Klopp) and LeRoy “Bud” Eiden. She was a 1962 graduate of Sherburn High School.

Upon graduation, she began working at N.S.P. in Minneapolis. This is where she met her future husband.

On Dec. 6, 1969, she married John Peterson at St. Luke’s Catholic Church. To this union, their daughter Christina was born.

Marcia enjoyed the Minnesota Twins, collecting Betty Boop and Coca Cola memorabilia, time spent at Canterbury Downs, playing 500, eating prime rib and drinking Coke. She was well known for filling birthday cards with confetti, which became a long-standing family joke. Most of all, she valued her time with her daughter Chris, grandson Tristan, and other family and friends. She has been upheld in prayers and thoughts by high school friends the “Golden Girls.”

Marcia is survived by her daughter, Christina Peterson of Minneapolis; grandson, Tristan Booth of Bloomington; sisters, Beverly (Dan) Chicos of West Concord, Julie (Mark) Frahm of Mankato, Jayne (Chris) Kellam of Welcome; brother, Tom (Mary Survis) Eiden of Fairmont; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John; parents, Marjorie and LeRoy; long-time partner Bernie Sampson; and special high school friend, Marlene (Swanson) Mielke.
