WELCOME — A Celebration of Life service for Delano A. Bergemann, 86, of Welcome, Minn., will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 20, 2019, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome, Minn., with Pastor Anthony Christoffels officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery, Fairmont, Minn.

Delano was called to his eternal rest Thursday morning, May 16, 2019, at his home in Welcome, Minn. Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. Sunday, May 19, 2019, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome, and one hour prior to the service Monday at the church. Delano Allen Rosevelt Bergemann was born Nov. 8, 1932, in Milnor, N.D., to Lawrence and Sadie (Een) Bergemann. At the age of 3, he moved with his family to a farm near Madelia, Minn., until moving to a farm just north of Welcome, Minn. Delano received his education in country school in Fraser Township and later was a 1951 graduate of Welcome High School.

On June 1, 1952, he was united in marriage to Elaine Zeitz at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fairmont. After their marriage, they farmed in Fraser Township until 1976. Delano drove semi truck for several trucking companies in the area and later for himself. In 1981, they moved into Welcome. In 1998, Delano and Elaine built their own home due to their home burning down.

Elaine was called to her eternal rest on Dec. 25, 2016. He continued living in Welcome.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome. He enjoyed riding his golf cart around Welcome, going to morning church coffee’s, going to Ole’s Cafe, shaking dice, playing cards, going fishing and just visiting with people.

He is survived by his children, Steve Bergemann and Joy Borchardt of St. Croix Falls, Wis., Doug (Kathy) Bergemann of rural Trimont, Minn., Ken (Kathy) Bergemann of rural Trimont, Kathy (Kevin) Stoneback of rural Fairmont, Minn., Pat (Dan) Schmidtke of rural Fairmont, Nancy (Kelly) Howell of rural Columbia, S.D.; 13-grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; best friend, Bill Badger of Welcome; other relatives and friends.

Delano was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Elaine Bergemann; daughter, Lisa Kay Bergemann; daughter-in-law, Judy Bergemann; and other relatives.
