BLUE EARTH — Ronald “Ronnie” Lee Distad, 77, of Blue Earth passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, at Hope United Methodist Church in Blue Earth, with Pastor Russ Jacobsen officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, at Patton Funeral Home in Blue Earth, and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

Ronnie was born Oct. 22, 1941, in St. Paul, Minn., to Kenneth and Veva (Moats) Distad. They later moved to Blue Earth, where he graduated from high school and resided most of his life.

On Dec. 31, 1970, he married his true love, Lorna Kolander. Together they raised two beautiful daughters.

Ronnie worked for many years as a truck driver, hauling grain and cattle among other things. He also worked for many years at Custom Built Pneumatics in Blue Earth.

Ronnie enjoyed many things in life; fishing up north with his buddies, playing cards and pool, cruising around town, whether it be on a bicycle or lawnmower and he very much enjoyed listening to music. He was a great storyteller and could make anybody laugh even on their worst day. But nothing brought him more joy and happiness than his family, especially his grandchildren. They brought out the best in him.

Ronnie is survived by his beloved wife, Lorna of Blue Earth; daughters, Dawn (Corrie) Rademaker of Blue Earth, Shelly (Spencer) Weir of Delavan; grandchildren, Brooklyn and Logan Rademaker, and Emersen and Ivy Weir; sister, Joan (Harlan) Hall of Blue Earth; brother, Duane (Debbie) Distad of Hanska; sister-in-law, Connie Distad; other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, LeRoy.
