WINNEBAGO – Born July 1, 1929 in Truman, Minnesota, to William Ray White and Faye Margaret (Morgan) White, Lila passed away at SummerWood of Plymouth on December 8, 2018, at the age of 89.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, May 18, 2019, at First Presbyterian Church, 127 Main St N., Winnebago, MN 56098, with visitation and fellowship one hour before.

Lila moved with her mother from Truman to Winnebago, Minnesota, when she was a junior in high school. She graduated from Winnebago High School in 1947. Lila married Kenneth Hugh McKay on July 18, 1947. They were married 60 years and raised five children on a farm east of Winnebago. The couple resided on the family farm until 1993 when they moved to Winnebago.

Lila loved music and she was active in music in high school. She directed the Chancel Choir of the First Presbyterian Church in Winnebago for 20 years. After moving to the Twin Cities, Lila directed the choir at Beacon Hill in Minnetonka.

Lila followed the Minnesota Twins and attended many Friday evening games at Target Field. She enjoyed participating in activities throughout the Twin Cities with her family. Lila attended Christ Presbyterian Church in Edina.

Lila was preceded in death by husband Kenneth Hugh in 2007, mother Faye in 2009, father William in 1954, brother-in-law Richard in 2016, and niece Nan McKay Horan in 1985.

Survivors include daughter Judith of Brooklyn Park; son Charles (Kathleen) of Shakopee, grandchildren Gavin, of Minneapolis, Megan Caauwe (Brian) of Burnsville, and great grandchildren Olivia and Aiden; daughter Christine Rosten of North Mankato, and grandchildren Kenneth, Bradley, and Jillian; daughter Maureen Kohlenberger (Don) of Minnetonka, and granddaughter Natasha; daughter Allison of Robbinsdale; nephew Richard McKay (Marsha) of Naperville, IL, great-niece Sarah LeBeau (Jason) and children Ethan and Emerson of Frankfort, IL, great-nephew Matthew Horan (Michelle) and children Addison, Asher, and Autumn of Arvada, CO, Sara MacDonald (Andrew Stein) and children Klaus and Arlo of Denver, CO; many relatives and lifelong friends in the Winnebago area.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the First Presbyterian Church in Winnebago, MN, Bass Lake Cemetery Association in Winnebago, or charity of the donor’s choice.
