FAIRMONT — Funeral services for Mildred Esther Blanck, 99, of Fairmont, Minn., will be 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 19, 2018, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont. Burial will be held at Emmanuel Cemetery, rural Welcome, Minn. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 19, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont.

Mildred passed away Monday evening, Oct. 15, 2018, at Lakeview Methodist Health Care Center in Fairmont.

Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mildred Esther Blanck was born Aug. 29, 1919, in Fox Lake Township, Martin County, Minn., to Irvin and Catherine (Groth) Blanck. She attended country school district #63 for two years and school in Welcome, Minn., for one year. The family moved to Fairmont and she graduated from Fairmont High School in 1938.

Mildred worked for J.C. Penney Co. for 42 years.

Mildred was a member of the United Methodist Church in Fairmont. She enjoyed reading and went on many bus tours through the years.

Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Nellie Catherine Oanes of Fairmont; nephews, Paul (Carolyn) Oanes of Fairmont, Steven (Sue) Oanes of Oregon, Wis., Michael Gorden Pedersen of Fort Collins, Colo.; nieces, Jeanette (Lynn) Bolte and Catherine Joan Pedersen, both of Vancouver, Wash.; special cousins, John and Joyce Swanson of Fairmont, Gerald and Arlene Newman of Bricelyn, Roger and Jodi Volz (goddaughter) of Minnesota Lake and Thomas and Diane Lentz of Chanhassen.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Grace Pedersen; brother, Roland Blanck; and cousins, Harold and Sylvia Sheppard.
