SAN DIEGO, Calif. — Thomas was born Dec. 1, 1934, in Fairmont, Minn., to John Krumholz and Mona Dickinson. His grandfather, August Krumholz, came to the United States from Germany in the mid 1800s.
Tom passed away May 23, 2018, in Valley Center, Calif., as a result of heart failure, surrounded by his family.
He moved to San Diego as a child and graduated from St. Augustine High School and San Diego State with a business degree.
Tom served his country as a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1957-1959, representing the rifle team.
He was sales manager for Vanier Graphics for 20 years and owned avocado groves in Valley Center, where he grew beautiful exotic Proteas on his property.
He owned mobile home parks over 35 years in several western states.
Tom is survived by his wife of 28 years, Cyndee; a daughter, Erin Brittain of San Diego; two granddaughters, Allison Brittain of San Diego and Jennifer Brittain of Greeley, Colo.; three step-children; 10 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
He will be buried 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 27, 2018, next to his father and brother at Calvary Cemetery, Fairmont, Minn.
A Celebration of Life was held in Escondido, Calif.
Tom will best be remembered by his infectious laugh and storytelling, and his love for baseball.
