Delbert Fenner

BEMIDJI — Delbert Fenner, 88, of Bemidji, Minn., formerly of Fairmont, Minn., died Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at Colleen’s Caring Hands in Bemidji, surrounded by family. Memorial services were held June 3, 2017, and inurnment was in Nary Cemetery.

Delbert Henry Fenner was born Dec. 19, 1928, in Fairmont, Minn., to Alvin and Elsie (Kirchgatter) Fenner. He began farming at the age of 12 in Fairmont.

After serving in the U.S. Army during World War II, he moved his young family to Nary, Minn., where he continued to farm in Nary and Guthrie until retiring at age 85.

He is survived by sons, Kieth (Patti) Fenner of Bemidji, Douglas (Jeanie) Fenner of Bemidji, Kevin (Rita) Fenner of Bemidji, and daughters Debra Fenner of San Antonio, Texas, and Yvonne (Al Christie) Fenner of Sacramento, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; stepsons, Brian (Shirley) Helberg of Osakis, Robert (Janet) Helberg of Arizona, Jack Helberg of Bemidji; and stepdaughter, Debbie (Pete) Williams of Arizona.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Elsie Fenner; two wives, LaVonne (Godden) Fenner and Donna Fenner; son, John Fenner; and brother, Lowell Fenner.
