Roger Reutzel

FAIRMONT – A memorial visitation for Roger Reutzel, 52, of Fairmont, Minn., will be held 4-7 p.m. Friday, July 8, at the Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont. A private family service and military honors by the Martin County VFW Post 1222 and the Lee C. Prentice American Legion Post 36 will precede the visitation.

Roger passed away on Thursday morning, June 30, 2016, at the Oaklawn Health Care Center in Mankato, Minn.

Roger John Reutzel was born July 2, 1963, in Fairmont, Minn., the son of Ervin and Anna Mae (Sokoloski) Reutzel. Roger is a 1981 graduate of Fairmont High School.

After his schooling, he worked at Glasstite and the City of Fairmont and served in the Minnesota Army National Guard. In 1986, he enlisted full time in the U.S. Army until 1997. After his discharge from the U.S. Army he stayed active in the Minnesota Army National Guard until 2000.

Roger married Nancy Olson (Campbell) in Fairmont and they had five children together and were later divorced.

For the past eight years, Roger enjoyed working on a dairy farm near East Chain. Roger enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching NASCAR and spending time with his family.

He is survived by five children, Dustin Reutzel (wife, Neysa), Coty Reutzel (wife, Lisa), Jamie Reutzel (fiance, Alyssa), Shelby Reutzel, Carter Reutzel; two grandchildren, Alec and Gavin Reutzel; mother, Anna Mae Reutzel; father, Ervin Reutzel and step mother, Dorothy Reutzel; five siblings, Gary Reutzel (Anne), Rebecca Musser, Helen Schroeder (Kim), Gloria Jean Brownlee (Dave); nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Roger was preceded in death by one sister, Debbie Reutzel; brother-in-law, Keith Schweiger; and nephew, Josh Musser.
