William ‘Bill’ Burkhart
HUMBOLDT, Iowa – William “Bill” Burkhart, age 93, of Humboldt, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2016, in Long-Term Care at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital. A Celebration of Life for Bill will be held 11 a.m. Monday, April 4, at Faith United Methodist Church in Humboldt, with Rev. Christy Ehrle officiating. Burial will take place at a later date.
Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, April 3, at Faith United Methodist Church in Humboldt.
Ubben-Lentz Funeral Home in Humboldt is assisting the family.
Bill is survived by his wife of 65 years, Betty Burkhart of Humboldt; sons, Marc (Lori) Burkhart of New Ulm, Minn., and Greg Burkhart of Fairmont, Minn.; grandsons, Matthew Burkhart of Denver, Colo., Nathan (Katie) Burkhart and their children, Avery and Owen of Maple Grove, Minn., Devin Burkhart of Denver, Colo., and Jordan Burkhart of Ames; brothers, Alfred Burkhart of Missouri Valley, and Henry (Shirley) Burkhart of Rapid City, S.D.; and numerous other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by three daughters in infancy; his parents, Paul and Minnie Burkhart; brothers, Carl, Harold, Joe and Rex Burkhart; and sisters, Inah McClannahan and Marjorie Layton.
