FORT DODGE, Iowa – Funeral services for Mary Alice Gormally, 54, of Fort Dodge, will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral home and 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. with a Vigil at 7 p.m., all at funeral home.
Gormally passed away Saturday, January 2, 2016, at Trinity Regional Medical Center.
Mary Alice Gormally was born on June 22, 1961 in Minneapolis, MN. In 1970 the family moved to Fairmont, MN and in 1978, they moved to Fort Dodge. She attended schools there and graduated from Pleasant Valley School. Mary held various jobs including the Marian Home, Fort Dodge Villa Care Center, Expo Health Care Center, and Life Works. She was an Olympian, Bowler, and enjoyed singing and giving speeches. Mary was also a member of the Tony Stewart Fan Club. In her free time, she was a high fashion model, wedding planner, and Judy Garland understudy.
Survivors include her mother, Elizabeth “Bettie” Gormally of Fort Dodge; siblings, Carole M. (Ralph) DeLong of New Brighton; James W. Gormally of Fort Dodge; Thomas P. (Malayka) Gormally of Seattle, Washington; Linda K. Gormally of Plymouth; John L. Gormally of Fairmont; Robert J. Gormally of Williston, ND; Denis B. Gormally of Minneapolis; William G. (Mary) Gormally of Fort Dodge; Janet (Jon) Clark of Fort Dodge, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her dad, James W. “Bud” Gormally, her sister, Beth Hemann Gormally, and an infant nephew.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
