Cheryl A. Crossan

TOULON, Ill. – Cheryl A. Crossan, 66, of Toulon, Ill., formerly of Galva, died 11 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, 2014, at Toulon Health Care Center.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, at Rux Funeral Home in Galva. Rev. David Schweppe will officiate. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Galva Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association or to the family for a memorial to be established.

She was born Feb. 7, 1948, in Fairmont, Minn., the daughter of Alvin and Amanda (Hagen) Swift. She married Christopher Crossan on Nov. 4, 1978, in Galva. He survives Geneseo; as does her son, Jon Jones of Kenosha, Wis.; a daughter, Jacki Wyman of Kewanee; step-daughter, Angela Willenbrink of Virginia Beach, Va.; a brother, David (Mary Jane) Swift of California, Md., two sisters, her twin, Carole (Warren) Schultze of Northrop, Minn., and Joyce Barber of Kenosha, Wis.; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Harder of Fairmont, Minn.; a brother-in-law, Leonard Neuenfeldt of Mankato, Minn.; and four grandchildren, Gregory and Sarah Wyman and Madison and Andrew Willenbrink.

She was preceded in death by her parent; two brothers; and a sister.

Cheryl graduated from Fairmont High School. She had worked as a cook at Woodhull Plaza, AJ’s and McKay’s. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Galva and had attended Zion Lutheran Church in Kewanee. She enjoyed cooking, baking and attending her grandchildren’s softball games and spending time with them.
