Minnesota Food Share month To the Editor: Dear Neighbors, would you like to make a positive change in your community? March is FoodShare Month in Minnesota and Heaven’s Table Food Shelf in Fairmont is part of this statewide food and funds drive which runs from Feb. 27 to April 9, 2023. Belief in others restored To the Editor: On Sunday, Feb. 26, I was traveling through Fairmont. I first stopped at the Walmart store, then proceeded through town. At the intersection by the Dollar Tree, it appeared a person was stuck in the snow with an electric wheelchair. I circled around the block to help, arriving to find three other people had already stopped. At Walmart, a gentleman was wheeling a cart and assisting someone in a wheelchair. Shepherd’s In preps for fundraiser Shepherd’s In will have its first Tour of Tables fundraiser on March 4. The Fairmont-based organization is raising funds to rent or purchase a home for people in need of a place to sleep. The founder of Shepherd’s In, Curtis Moeckle, said since 2019 they’ve helped 70 people in Martin County get off of the streets.
