By Daniel Olson 2 min read

MARTIN COUNTY-- Both state seats that cover a majority of Martin County will be held by Republicans.

Incumbent District 22A State Representative Bjorn Olson will stay in the house after receiving 67 percent of the votes, versus 33 percent for Sonja Denn. In 2024, Olson won with 69 percent of the votes to the 31 percent for Marisa Ulmen.

Jeremy Munson will become the new District 22 State Senator, taking over for Rich Draheim who is retiring. He received 65 percent of the votes, compared to Marisa Ulmen’s 35 percent. In 2022 Draheim had no challenger and won with 97 percent of the votes.

For the six precincts covered by House District 21B and Senate District 21, representation will also continue as Republican. In the house race, Marj Fogelman beat Jon Wilson 61 to 39 percent, while in the senate race Chris Knoll won over Caitlyn Sanow-Minett 67 to 33 percent to take over for the retiring Bill Weber.

Fogelman beat Wilson 66-34 percent in 2024, while there was no challenger for the senate seat in 2022, so Weber won with 98 percent of the vote.
