The Civic and Commerce Club will meet at noon on Thursday, Oct. 1, at Bank Midwest in Sherburn. The Civic and Commerce Club continues their offer of a sale of a steel park bench that could be a memorial or honor for a resident for half price $600 since the Martin County Area Foundation and Bank Midwest have lent their support to the project through grants. St. John’s Lutheran Church Friendship Club invites all to join their meeting and lunch at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 5, at Pizza Ranch in Fairmont. Membership in the club or at St. John’s is not required.
Coffee Hours will meet from 8:30 to 10 a.m. each Tuesday in October at the Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center in Sherburn. Join friends and neighbors for good coffee, treats and fellowship.

Martin County West High School had Homecoming last week. Congratulations to the Homecoming royalty from MCW High School in Sherburn. Homecoming King is Lixon Forsberg and Homecoming Queen is Emma Geldart. Homecoming Prince is Maddox Faber and Homecoming Princess is Vivian Olson. The royal court included: Noah Meixell, Hank Olson, Pierce Rohman, Aaliyah Bolstad, Morgan McCorkell and Clare Striemer.
MCW football will play at Winthrop on Oct. 2 at 7 p.m. and on Oct. 9 at Trimont vs St. James. That game will honor military personnel and there will be a Tailgate Party. The Volleyball team has several games planned in October. On Oct. 1 they will play against Fairmont at Sherburn at 7 p.m. On Oct. 3 they will have a Tournament. On Oct. 6 the Volleyball game will be at Nicollet at 7 p.m. and the Oct. 8 game is also an away game at Cleveland at 7 p.m. Good Luck Mavericks.
The CREST Grief Support Group will begin in the area. The group can walk a person through the grief journey whether the grief is recent or a while ago. The group plans to meet monthly from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center in Trimont. There is no cost and no registration. The group will be led by CREST Caregiver Support Services Director Joyce Peterson and In the Clouds Counseling Founder Jennifer Petersen. They are professionals with experience helping navigate loss.
