It is Homecoming Week at Truman Public School. Dress up for spirit day, so wear your Jags clothing or a lot of black/purple clothing. The parade will begin at 1:45 p.m. followed by the pep fest. The Jaguar football game vs Mountain Lake/Comfrey begins at 7 p.m. in Truman. The tailgate meal will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the football field. Enjoy a pork chop on a stick, chips, cookie and water for $8. Proceeds to Jaguar Youth Football. Following the game, a dance for grade 7 to 12 students will be held in the cafeteria from 9 to 11 p.m. The cost is $3 for pre-sign up or $5 at the door.
Jaguar volleyball will be at the USC Rebel invite at 9 a.m. on Saturday. Jaguar volleyball will be at Alden Conger on Oct. 1. Jaguar volleyball will play against Madelia at 4:30 p.m. today, Thursday, Sept. 24, at Madelia.
A farmers market will be from 8 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26, in the northern parking lot of the Truman Tavern.
The Lewisville Commercial Club Community picnic will begin with social hour at 5 p.m. and the meal at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26. Burgers and drinks are provided. Bring a dish to pass. Everyone is welcome to join them for this community event.
Truman Church of Christ has been in existence in this community for 125 years. It was established in October of 1901 by 13 charter members. God bless you with many more.
It is against the law to dispose of fluorescent bulbs and ballasts with your regular garbage. Fluorescent bulb recycling will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 1, at the Tractor Supply parking lot in Fairmont.
Holy Hotdish Fundraiser for organ will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 4 at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in Truman. Assorted hot dishes, bread, dessert and beverages will be served for a free-will donation. Takeout and delivery within a 10-mile radius of Truman are available.
