CEYLON -- St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wilbert will have service with communion at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 20. Their partner Church, St. John in Sherburn, will have a Sunday School Rally Day after their 8 a.m. services with a lunch and veggie races. St. Paul’s in Wilbert will have a Bible Study group on the first and third Thursdays of this month at 6 p.m. The Circle of Faith Parishes will meet at 9 a.m. for services at Waverly Lutheran Church in Trimont and then Sunday School Stations from 10:15 to 11:15 a.m. for their Rally Day. The Waverly Church Council will meet after the Sunday School. The St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ceylon will have 10:30 a.m. services on Sunday. Area residents are welcome to join these churches for services.
Coffee Hours continue from 8:30 to 10 a.m. each Tuesday in September at St. Paul Community Church in Welcome, and Coffee Lovers meet from 8:30 to 10 a.m. each Thursday, in the back room of the Lake Belt Bar and Grill in Ceylon. Join friends and neighbors at these events for coffee, treats and fellowship.
American Red Cross blood drives will be on Sept. 21 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Fairmont, on Oct. 7 at Truman Public School, on Oct. 12 at St. Paul’s Community Church in Welcome and at the Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center in Trimont, on Oct. 19 at Martin Luther High School in Northrop and on Oct. 23 at the American Legion in Fairmont. Blood is urgently needed, so give if you are able.
The Helping Hands of Ceylon will distribute Heaven’s Table Food Shelf food boxes. To sign up and find guidelines, call (507) 236-7850 by Thursday, Oct. 8 for the October food boxes. Pick-up will be from 10 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, Oct. 20 in Ceylon.
The Helping Hands of Ceylon group will host a Trunk and Treat event for children from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24 on Main Street in Ceylon. If anyone would like to join and pass out candy, contact (507) 236-7580.
Cribbage Tournaments will begin with registration at 1:15 p.m. on Saturdays, Oct. 10 and 17 at the Welcome Legion Hall. Plan to attend. Cribbage tournaments will be on the second and third Saturdays from October to March. Registration dues are rewarded as prizes.
