Giddy Up/Imagine Martin gears up for Bohemian Hippie Market

FAIRMONT -- Giddy Up Boutique, co-sponsored by Imagine Martin, will host the first Bohemian Hippie Market from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19, at West 1st Street in Fairmont.
"We're feeling good about it," said Giddy Up Boutique owner Denise Rouse when asked how she and the staff are feeling about the event approaching. "We've had great responses, so we're just trying to get ready for everybody who's going to be coming."
She shared that she and the Giddy Up Boutique staff have a strong appreciation for hippie and Bohemian fashion and culture. Therefore, Rouse cited the Bohemian Hippie Market as a fun offering in the community.
"I think it's something a lot of the girls and I are drawn to, and we dress that way on a normal, everyday basis," Rouse said.
Her goals are to see a good turnout and lots of shoppers on Saturday.
Preparations for the event have been going on for approximately a year and she is happy to see it come to life next weekend.
This is the first event of its kind in Fairmont and Rouse shared that hundreds of people have expressed interest in attending on social media.
"It's good to be able to offer this to Fairmont and the surrounding community. Just to get together all of our store friends, other people coming to visit, it's going to be a fun gathering, a fun gathering of people, to come together for the day and enjoy shopping, enjoy food, enjoy music," Rouse said.
Events include 25 vendors outside on West 1st Street, 25 vendors in the Imagine Martin Community Information Hub, more vendors in the Michael and Elizabeth Garry Building/The Hive, food trucks, Bohemian (also known informally as "boho") clothing, vintage decor, macrame, plants, crystals, readings, henna tattoos and more.
"I think it makes us feel good to offer something that's fun and different for our customers, to show them how much we appreciate them," Rouse said. "Pick up a few goodies, eat some food, just have a good time. Peace out."
She said she would be interested in having more events like this in the future.
