SHERBURN -- CREST Lunch and Learn will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today, Wednesday, Sept. 2, at the Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center in Sherburn. The presentation will be about Duluth shipping by Joyce Peterson. A lunch will follow the program. Please reserve by calling (507) 235-3833. These programs are free to senior citizens in Martin County. CREST appreciates a free-will donation.
CREST Caregiver Support Group will meet at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 8, at the Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center in Trimont. This is a free support group for family and caregivers of any patient with any kind of dementia.

Coffee Hours give area residents an opportunity to make friends and renew friendships over a cup of coffee and treats from 8:30 to 10 a.m. each Tuesday in September, at St. Paul Community Church in Welcome.
Sherburn City Council to meet at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 8, at City Hall. The usual Monday meeting date is on a holiday, Labor Day. St. Paul Community Church in Welcome will begin Sunday School at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 13. Their services are at 9:30 a.m. on Sundays.
The Friendship Club from St. John Lutheran Church in Sherburn invites area residents to join them for lunch at noon on Monday, Sept. 14, at The Ranch restaurant in Fairmont. Membership in the club or at St. John’s is not required.
The Martin County West School athletes are gearing up for the 2026-27 season. The football team will battle Windom at the Trimont Field on Sept. 4 at 7 p.m. Prior to the game there will be a Tailgate Party from 5:30 to 7 p.m. featuring pork chops, chips, cookies and water. The cost is $8 and the proceeds will go to the Booster Club. The Volleyball team will also be playing, tomorrow, Sept. 3, at the Sherburn High School vs St. Clair at 7 p.m. The Volleyball team will also meet at Mt. Lake/Comfrey on Sept. 8 at 7:15 p.m. Congratulations to the Community members who worked to get a Pole Vaulting Pit for the Mavericks Spring Track and Field team. Your hard work and support is appreciated.

The Regional Worship Center in Sherburn will have a Ladies Fellowship Potluck evening at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12. St. John Lutheran Church will be using their fall services schedule soon. Sept. 6 services are at 8 a.m. and Sept. 13 they will have an 8 a.m. service and then a 10 a.m. service at Everett Park followed by a Brunch. Sept. 20 is the Sunday School Rally Day with 8 a.m. services and then a lunch and veggie racing at 11 a.m. On Sept. 27 the Wilbert partner congregation will join at St. John at 8 a.m. service or 10:30 service. A call meeting will be held after the 8 a.m. service to choose a pastor to call to replace Pastor Wilson who retired. The Partner congregation at Wilbert will have 9:30 a.m. services on Sundays Sept. 6 -13- and 20. No service at Wilbert on Sept. 27 they will join St. John’s that day.
