CEYLON -- The Circle of Faith parish will have services at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 23, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome or at 9 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Trimont. Following the service at First Lutheran, there will be an ice cream social from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Barbecue, ice cream, bars and beverages will be served. Plan to attend.
Coffee Hours will be held from 8:30 to 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 25, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn. Coffee Hours on Tuesdays in September will be at St. Paul Community Church in Welcome. Coffee Lovers meet from 8:30 to 10 a.m. on Thursdays in the banquet room of the Lake Belt Bar and Grill in Ceylon. Join friends and neighbors for coffee and fellowship at these two opportunities in the area.
Condolences to the family of Carol Stabner, a former Ceylon resident, who passed away recently. She will be missed by family and friends.

Blood is urgently needed; donate if you are eligible (age 16 or older, weigh 110 pounds or more and are in good health). One donation may save the lives of three people.
St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wilbert will offer a Bible Study session about the Basic Bible Teachings with Pastor Hagen. The first session will be at 6 p.m. on Sept. 10. This will be an organization session. Books will be served. Further sessions are planned. Wilbert Church members may sign up in the narthex of the church or by contacting St. John Lutheran Church in Sherburn (their partner church) at church@sjlsherburn.com or (507) 764-5312. All are welcome to join them.
Helping Hands of Ceylon will distribute Heaven's Table Food Shelf boxes in September in Ceylon. To sign up or to find information and guidelines, call (507) 236-7850 by Sept. 10. Pick-up will be on Sept. 15, at 209 West Street in Ceylon.
The Friendship Club from St. John Lutheran Church in Sherburn will meet for lunch at noon on Sept. 14, at The Ranch Restaurant in Fairmont. All are welcome to join. Membership in the club or St. John’s Lutheran Church is not required.
