Heritage Acres Threshing Day this Sunday

WELCOME -- The Trimont Farmers Market will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today, Friday, Aug. 7 (and all Fridays), at Anderson Park, and includes activities for children from 10 a.m. to noon, lunch and vendors. The Burn Site for Welcome residents will be open from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Aug. 8. Please bring only wood that is six inches in diameter or less, grass clippings and branches. Thank you for your cooperation.

The Circle of Faith Parishes will have one combined service on Sunday, Aug, 9, at the Jon Saxen lake home at 10:30 a.m. (address is 12 West South Fox Lake Drive, directions are in ripples) After the outdoor service the Council members will serve lunch. Bring a lawn chair please. The inclement weather site will be Trinity in Welcome. Just a reminder that the usual services on Sundays in August are at 9 a.m. at First Lutheran in Trimont and at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity in Welcome.

Heritage Acres in Fairmont will have its annual Threshing Day on Sunday, Aug. 9. Activities include an antique tractor parade at 2 p.m., petting zoo, pork chop on a stick, vendors, and the Galaxy Band performing from noon to 3 p.m. There is no gate fee. It is handicap accessible.

The American Legion in Welcome will meet at 7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 10. All members are encouraged to attend.

Coffee Hours will be held from 8:30 to 10 a.m. each Tuesday in August at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn. Join friends and neighbors for fellowship around a cup of coffee and treats. An elevator is available to the basement.

American Red Cross blood drives will be on Aug. 10 at the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn, Aug. 21 at the American Legion Hall in Fairmont, and Sept. 1 and 2 at the Best Western in Fairmont. Blood is urgently needed, so give if you are eligible (age 16 or more, weigh 110 pounds or more and are in good health). Thank you.
