Truman city-wide garage sales coming up

TRUMAN -- Notice is hereby given that the general election in the City of Truman, will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026. The following offices shall be filled: one mayor with a two year term and two councilmembers with four year terms. Filing is available until 5 p.m. on July 28, 2026. The affidavits of candidacy must be filed in the city clerk's office, located at 202 West Ciro Street in Truman.

Truman city-wide garage sales begin July 23, 24 and some of the 25 flyers will be available Saturday, July 18, at Casey’s in Truman. Be sure to check the time and day each sale is to be held. Treasures are waiting.

The annual Veterans Serving Veterans picnic will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 18 at Gomsrud Park in Fairmont. This is for veterans, active duty and National Guard members, their families and is sponsored by Legion Post 36, DAV Chapter 32, and VFW Post 1222.

The next Minnesota Spay and Neuter Assistance Program (MN SNAP) mobile clinic will be on Tuesday, July 28, at Granada City Hall and Fire Department. Registration will open at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 14. For more information and registration, visit mnsnap.org.

The Truman City Council will meet at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, July 20, at the municipal building. These meetings are open to the public.

The Truman School Board meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, July 20, in the board conference room.

Household hazardous waste collection will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22, at Prairieland Solid Waste Management in Truman.

CREST will host their monthly Sing-A-Long for senior citizens at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21, at the Booz Baptist Apartments in Truman. RSVPs are required, and can be completed by calling (507) 776-8555. This event is open to senior citizens.

A Jaguar baseball, softball and pool party for all kids and coaches involved in the Jaguar programs will be from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. on Friday, July 17, at the Truman Pool. The event is sponsored by Truman Senior Living.

Enjoy late-night swim on Wednesday at the Truman Pool from 9-11 pm for $3. Mini golf is FREE to play.

Come to the Truman Public Library at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22, for Storytime and a craft. Registration is not required.

The classic tractor ride from Prairieland Solid Waste will be at 7:30 a.m. on Friday, July 24.

Enjoy a Dad's Belgian Waffle breakfast from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, at the Truman Community Building. Take outs are available. Sponsored by Trinity Lutheran Church in Truman.
