Truman/Lewisville library events approaching

TRUMAN — Thank you to all who attended the Memorial Day program and the pool fundraiser picnic lunch provided by the pool commission at the Truman Community Building. Kevin Lutterman spoke, Marial and Callie Parish sang and Jackson Clow did a reading. Thank you to our Legion for posting colors.

Watch for additional information about the Power of Produce program, which provides free tokens for eligible youth and seniors to use at the Farmers Markets and Granada Gardens produce stands.

Adults are invited to the Lewisville Library at 3 p.m. on Monday, June 8, to DIY a tin can caddy for summer picnics. All supplies are provided. To sign up, call (507) 435-2781 or (507) 375-1278.

The Truman Gun Club has a few teams looking for shooters. If you are interested, let Mike Borkenhagen know at (507) 236-6251.

Truman Active Living will meet at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 9, at the Truman Museum. Any Truman area resident who is interested in seeing our community continue to provide and improve our facilities is welcome to come and give their input.

Lewisville Fun Daze will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9, at the Legion. Please come. Volunteers are still needed.

Prairieland Solid Waste Management (PSWM) in Truman will have a household hazardous waste collection for Martin and Faribault County residents from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10. Paint, aerosols, cleaners, lawn/garden products, used gas and oil and more will be accepted. For additional information, contact PSWM at (507) 776-3232.

Come to the Truman Public Library at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10, for storytime and a craft. Registration is not required. Questions can be directed to Theresa at (507) 776-2717, from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Kids are invited to the Lewisville library at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10, to create a craft that looks like an ancient mosquito trapped in amber, inspired by Jurassic Park.

A Hard Day’s Night Beatles Tribute Band will perform at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, at the Fairmont High School performing arts center. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Proceeds go to Empower Coalition. Tickets are available at Hy-Vee, Fareway, State Bank and First Farmers and Merchants Bank.

The MN Department of Natural Resources is waiving entrance and vehicle permit fees on June 13 at all Minnesota State Parks.

Trinity Lutheran Church in Truman is holding a salad luncheon from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24. Enjoy salads, crackers, fresh fruit, veggie pizza, deviled eggs, egg salad and ham salad sandwiches, bars and beverages. Takeouts available. No deliveries. The cost is $10 for adults and $3 for children.
