Truman’s last day of school May 29

TRUMAN — Truman Public School students will be dismissed on the last day of school on Friday, May 29.

The Truman Fire Department Relief Association ATV/SXS poker run begins with registration at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 30. Ride begins at 11 a.m. Trailer parking is in the Truman High School parking lot. For questions, call Ron at (952) 201-3095 or Brandon at (507) 236-4064.

The Truman City Council will meet at 5:30 pm on Monday, June 1. All are welcome to attend these meetings.

Go to the Red Rock Center for the Arts in Fairmont at 7 p.m. on Monday, June 1 for the Trimont Centennial Band spring concert. Admission is free.

The Lutz Cancer Center, located at the Mayo Clinic Health System in Fairmont, provides a monthly support group for patients from any community who have received a cancer diagnosis at any point in their lives. The support group offers compassionate, cancer-related education and support provided by different guest speakers in a variety of key roles. Attendees may share experiences and learn about coping with the challenges of cancer. Caregivers are welcome to attend. The meeting will be held from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2. Lakyn Sathoff from Hair Etc. will be the speaker. It is a free offering. For more information, call (507) 238-8100.

Recycling day is Wednesday. Place recycling containers on the curb by 7 am. Egg cartons, pizza boxes, styrofoam and plastic grocery bags are prohibited. All items being recycled must be clean.

Lewisville Fun Daze will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2, at the Legion. Please come. Volunteers are still needed.

Truman Pride will meet at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 3. Pride in the school, pride in the students and pride in our future. They work together to promote, support and accomplish fun things and resources for the students, staff and school. All are welcome. It is okay to bring your kids. Be a part of something positive.

The Truman Gun Club is looking for some help replacing their diseased trees. They would like to buy five maple trees. The cost is $270 per tree. Donations can be dropped off at Profinium Bank and Insurance Agency in Truman. A check made out to the Truman Gun Club with “Trees” in the memo would be appreciated.

It’s almost time for the Lewisville 125th anniversary celebration. Be sure to pick up a schedule of events or check out Lewisville Fun Daze on Facebook. Get your kids (grades 4 to 9) signed up for the fun three-on-three basketball tournament on Saturday, June 20. A Lewisville kids dance will be held from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday at the Old City Hall. Admission is free. The event will have TJ and DJ music, snacks and glow sticks. The bean bag tournament is Saturday, June 20.
