FAIRMONT– Five people filed for five open seats in Martin County on Tuesday. Jaime Bleess filed to retain his seat as District Two County Commissioner. Richard Koons also filed to retain his seat as District Four County Commissioner. Michelle Duncan filed to retain her seat as County Recorder and Chantill Kahler Royer filed to retain her seat as District Two Soil and Water Supervisor.

Matt Owens filed for County Sheriff, which is currently filled by Jeff Markquart though Markquart previously indicated that he will not be seeking reelection.

The filing period for federal, state and county offices will remain open through June 2.
