Sunday is Mother’s Day. Mother’s Day is the best time to say how much you love and care for your mother. There is no way we can ever really thank our mother for all she does for us; nevertheless, we can remind ourselves of the various sacrifices she made while raising us. Mothers are the sweetest gift from God.
Truman Active Living will meet at 10 am on Tuesday, May 12, at the Truman Museum. Any Truman area resident interested in seeing the community continue to provide and improve our facilities is welcome.
Lewisville Fun Daze will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 12, at the Lewisville Legion. Please come, as volunteers are still needed.

Second Harvest Heartland, a nutrition assistance program for seniors, box pickup will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 13, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Truman. Eligibility is based on age, 60 years and up, household size and income. Pre-register by calling 1-800-365-0270.
Truman Active Living will have its Bike Safety Rodeo for Truman Public School third-grade students and St. Paul’s Lutheran School third and fourth-grade students on Thursday afternoon, May 14. Bicycles and helmets are provided for the students. They will hear information about Minnesota laws regarding bicycle riders from the Martin County Sheriff’s Department and will be able to ride through courses to develop their skills.
Caregiver Response Effort and Service Team (CREST) in Fairmont is accepting CREST volunteers. The duties of CREST volunteers include speaking on the phone with homebound seniors, driving seniors to errands and trips, light housekeeping, meal preparation, budget management, visiting and other tasks. The Truman Gun Club is looking for help replacing their diseased trees. They would like to buy five maple trees. The cost is $270 per tree. Donations can be dropped off at Profinium Bank in Truman. A check made out to the Truman Gun Club with “Trees” in the memo would be appreciated.
