FAIRMONT — Fairmont High School (FHS) Cardinal Theater students are ‘all in this together’ presenting their spring musical production, Disney’s “High School Musical JR.” at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 17, and at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 18 in the Performing Arts Center at FHS.

“Our performers have a lot of fond memories of this movie from their childhood, so we wanted to give them a chance to step into those iconic roles. We have had a lot of fun together this spring,” said Director Sara Gudahl, on what led her to choose the show for the spring production.

“We are excited to send off a large group of seniors while preparing a very talented group of underclassmen to step into those leadership positions,” she added.

With songs like “Start Of Something New,” “Get’cha Head in the Game,” “Stick to the Status Quo,” “We’re All In This Together” and more, the musical dives into the lives of East High School students, who strive to break from expectations by the school’s cliques.

The annual FHS spring theater production showcases the talents of grade 9 to 12 students and this year, more than 50 students are involved across the acting cast and stage crew and have been preparing for the show since March.

“These kids were able to put this show together in only 14 non-consecutive rehearsals, an astounding feat. It has a short run time of only 55 minutes and is fully family-friendly. We would love for the community to turn out for it,” Gudahl said.

Admission costs $7 for adults, $5 for senior citizens and is free for students. Tickets will be sold at the performances. Doors open 30 minutes before each performance. For additional information, contact FHS at (507) 238-4411.
