MCW School Board/Sherburn City Council meets April 20
SHERBURN — A CREST Lunch and Learn program will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on today, Wednesday, April 15, at the First Lutheran Church in Trimont. After the program, there will be lunch. These educational and fun programs are free to senior citizens in Martin County. CREST appreciates a free-will donation.
The Sherburn Legion will have their Hamburger Night from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight, Wednesday, April 15. The menu includes a burger, salad and beans. The cost is $12.
Tuesday Coffee Hours continue from 8:30 to 10 a.m. each Tuesday in April, at the Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center in Trimont. Join friends and neighbors for good coffee, treats and good fellowship.
Condolences to the families of Mary Osborn and Lauretta Krahmer, who passed away recently. They will be missed.
The American Red Cross Blood Drives will be on Friday, April 17 at the American Legion Hall in downtown Fairmont, and on Monday, April 27, at Martin Luther High School in Northrop. Blood is urgently needed so give if you are eligible (age 16 or more, weight 110 or more, and in good health) Call the 800-733-2767 (800-red-cross) number, go online at www.redcrossblood.org or text BLOODAPP to 90999 to make an appointment or find blood drives near your area.
The Sherburn City Council will meet at 5 p.m. on Monday, April 20 at the City Hall. There is always time scheduled for public comments and questions at the beginning of each meeting. To be scheduled for the regular agenda, please contact the City Hall before the meeting date at (507) 764-4491.
The Martin County West School Board meeting is scheduled at 6 p.m. on Monday, April 20 at the Sherburn Elementary School.
Prom will be at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 25 (doors open at 6:45 p.m.). The theme is Once Upon a Golden Night. A free-will donation will support the event.
April 29 will be an early dismissal day for the MCW schools at 12:15 p.m. The last day of school is scheduled for May 29. Athletes at MCW are busy with Spring Sports. Baseball will be played at Windom at 4:30 p.m. on April 17, and at USC on April 21 at 4:30 p.m. Softball will be played vs Madelia on April 16 at the Welcome Field at 4:30 p.m. and vs USC at Wells on April 17 at 4:30 p.m. The Golf team will play on April 17 at the Fox Lake Golf Course vs Blue Earth Area team. Track and Field boys and girls teams will travel to ST. Clair on April 17 for a 4 p.m. meet. Good Luck Mavericks.
Bob and Vivian Traetow celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on April 14. That is quite a milestone. Cards will reach them at 732 Woodland Avenue, Fairmont, MN 56031. Congratulations.

The Interlaken Heritage Days Spring Craft and Vendor Show will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, at the National Guard Armory in Fairmont.
St. John’s Lutheran Church will have confirmation of 17 students on May 3. They are taking registrations for the Vacation Bible School and Camp Omega Day Camp this summer.
