Welcome burn site open Saturday

WELCOME — The burn site in Welcome will be open from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 11. Please bring only tree trimmings, brush, leaves and grass clippings. Garbage and large wood are prohibited. Residents’ sump pumps should now drain into the storm sewer or onto the lawn. Please do not put grass clippings in the street since it plugs up the gutter and storm sewer. Thank you for your cooperation.

Ceylon Community Day auction rings and city-wide rummage sales will be on Saturday, April 11. Plan to attend.

The Sherburn Legion Steak, Shrimp, or smoked Pork Chop supper will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 11.

Condolences to the families of Geraldine Senne and Donna Lohse, who recently passed away. They will be missed by family and friends.

The Lake Promenaders Square Dance Club will meet at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 12, at 804 West First Street in Welcome. Dancers and watchers are welcome.

American Red Cross blood drives will be on Monday, April 13, at the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn, on Friday, April 17, at the American Legion Hall in Fairmont and on Monday, April 27, at Martin Luther High School in Northrop. An additional number for the Sherburn drive is Dorothy at (507) 236-5764. Blood is needed now. Give if you are eligible. Each blood donation may save three lives.

Martin Luther High School in Northrop will have its Spring Rummage and Bake Sale from April 16 to April 18. There will be bargain prices and good quality items.

The Welcome Legion will meet at 7 p.m. on Monday, April 13. All members are encouraged to attend. The Welcome Legion Auxiliary will meet at 6:30 p.m. on April 20.

The Welcome Legion Auxiliary will have a Spring Vendor Show from 8:30 a.m. to noon on May 2, at the Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center/St. Paul’s Community Church in Welcome. Plan to attend.

Coffee Hours continue from 8:30 to 10 a.m. each Tuesday in April at the Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center in Trimont. Join friends and neighbors for coffee, treats and fellowship.

The CREST Lunch and Learn program will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on April 15, at the First Lutheran Church in Trimont. The program will focus on improving brain power. These programs are free to senior citizens from Martin County. RSVP at (507) 235-3833. Free-will donations are appreciated.

There will be no Welcome Festival this year.
