Sherburn Legion Steak Fry Saturday

SHERBURN — The LWML at St. John’s Lutheran Church will meet at 2 p.m. today, April 8.

Area churches will return to their normal service schedules. St. John’s Lutheran at 8 a.m. and their partner church in Wilbert, St. Paul, will be at 10 a.m. St. Luke Catholic Church in Sherburn will begin its April to June schedule of services at 10:30 a.m. on Sundays. The Circle of Faith parishes will have 9 a.m. services in Ceylon at St. Peter Lutheran Church and 10:30 a.m. services on Sundays at Waverly Lutheran. The Regional Worship Center in Sherburn will have 10 a.m. services on Sunday and Wednesday Night meals and Bible Study at 5:30 p.m. They have a special potluck Ladies Night planned for Friday, April 10, at 6 p.m. All area women are invited to bring a dish to pass and enjoy fellowship with area women.

Condolences to the families of Stanley Nelson and Delores Armstrong, who passed away recently. They will be missed by family and friends.

Tuesday Coffee Hours began this week and will continue from 8:30 to 10 a.m. each Tuesday in April, at the Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center in Trimont. Join friends and neighbors for coffee, treats and fellowship.

American Red Cross blood drives will be from 1 to 6 p.m. on April 13, at the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn, on April 17 at the American Legion Hall in Fairmont and on April 27 at Martin Luther High School in Northrop. The Sherburn Legion will have its Steak Fry Night from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 11. The menu includes ribeye ($22), smoked pork chop or shrimp ($18), salad bar, baked potato and garlic toast.

The Sherburn Legion will meet at 7 p.m. on April 14.

Martin County West athletes will have games this spring. The baseball team will play on April 9 at the Welcome Fields vs Mankato Loyola at 4:30 p.m., April 13 at Cleveland at 4:30 p.m. and on April 14 at the Welcome Field vs Nicollet at 4:30 p.m. The softball team will play on April 9 at Alden Conger at 4:30 p.m. and at Windom on Friday, April 10 at Windom at 4:30 p.m. and Mountain Lake at the Welcome Field on April 13 at 4:30 p.m. The golf teams will meet at Madelia on April 9 at 4:15 p.m. and will travel to Jackson on April 14 at noon. The track and field teams will meet Blue Earth at the Wilson Field on April 10 at 4:30 p.m. Good luck, Mavericks.

A Spring Craft and Vendor Show will be at 9 a.m. on April 25 at the National Guard Armory in Fairmont.

St. John’s Lutheran Church will have confirmation for 17 youth on May 3. They are also gearing up for the summer with plans for VBS for kindergarten and preschool in June, and for children entering first grade to sixth grade in July, with a Camp Omega Day Camp. Registration for both is open now.

Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center in Trimont will have an open house to tour its new crematory and facility from 3 to 7 p.m. on April 16.
