Coffee Lovers meet Thursdays at Lake Belt

CEYLON — A cribbage tournament will begin with registration at 1:15 p.m. today, Saturday, March 14, at the Welcome Legion Hall. Registration fees are reimbursed as prizes. There will be a cribbage tournament on Saturday, March 21. All area cribbage players are welcome to join the fun.

Music Bingo will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today, Saturday, March 14, at the Lake Belt Bar and Grill in Ceylon.

The Coffee Lovers group meets from 8:30 to 10 a.m. each Thursday at the back room of the Lake Belt Bar and Grill. Area residents are welcome to join them for coffee and fellowship.

Thank you to the Lake Belt Bar and Grill for hosting the Ceylon Fire Department Pancake Feed on March 8, and to all who attended and supported the Ceylon Fire Department.

Heaven’s Table Food Boxes pick up date is from 9 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, March 17, at 209 West Street. Call Helping Hands for Ceylon at (507) 236-7850 to sign up and get more information about guidelines and more by April 9 to receive the April boxes. An American Red Cross blood drive will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, March 16, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Fairmont. Call 1-800-733-2676, visit www.redcrossblood.org or text BLOODAPP to 90999 to make an appointment or find blood drives near you.

CREST’s Lunch and Learn program will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18, at First Lutheran Church in Trimont. The program will be presented by a representative of Interfaith Caregivers from Blue Earth about the Alertlink Medical Alert System. This program is for Martin County senior citizens and a lunch will follow. CREST does appreciate a free-will donation. RSVP to (507) 235-3833.

Lenten Midweek services continue on Wednesday, March 18, at area churches. St. John’s Lutheran in Sherburn will host their partner church from Wilbert with a 6 p.m. service, and a meal to follow. The Circle of Faith parishes will meet at Waverly Lutheran Church north of Welcome for a meal at 6 p.m. by St. Peter congregation, and a service at 7 p.m. St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Sherburn will have 8:30 a.m. services and invite area residents to their Tuesday Stations of the Cross at 5:30 p.m. and Mass at 6 p.m. with a meal following the Mass.

Ceylon’s 91st annual Community Day Auction will be on April 11. There are usually many garage sales that day too. If you plan to have a garage sale and would like your location on the map, please contact Linda Bakke at (507) 632-4509 or obakke@frontiernet.net by April 7. Maps are usually at the auctioneer’s bus (office) and at the post office in Ceylon. Thank you Linda for doing that service to Ceylon.
