Truman Pride to meet March 4

National FFA Week is from Feb 21 to 28. Friday is National Wear Blue Day, celebrating the iconic corduroy blue jacket, agriculture education and student leadership. Wear the iconic blue jacket or any blue clothing to honor the organization.
Truman Public School students will be on spring break from March 3 to 6.
St Patrick’s Day Cookie Decorating will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Monday, March 9, and from 3 to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10, at TPS. The cost is $5 per person. Registration can be completed by calling (507) 776-2111, ext. 3912. Craft activities will be held from 3 to 4:30 p.m, Monday, March 9, in the Home Ec Room at TPS. Pre-registration is necessary. Bring a snack. A beverage is provided. Children in grades 3 or younger need an adult to accompany them.
The Truman City Council will meet at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, March 2. The public is welcome to attend these meetings.
The Lutz Cancer Center, located at the Mayo Clinic Health System in Fairmont, provides a monthly support group for patients from any community who have received a cancer diagnosis at any point in their lives from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. on the first Tuesday of the month, Tuesday, March 3. The support group offers compassionate, cancer-related education and support by different guest speakers in a variety of key roles. Attendees may share experiences and learn about coping with the challenges of cancer. Caregivers are welcome to attend. It is a free offering. For more information, phone (507) 238-8100.
Recycling Day is Wednesday, March 4. Place recycling containers on the curb by 7 a.m. Egg cartons, pizza boxes, styrofoam and plastic grocery bags are prohibited. All recycled items must be clean.
Truman Pride will meet at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4. Pride in the school, pride in the students and pride in our future. They work together to promote, support and accomplish fun things and resources for the students, staff and school. All are welcome. It’s okay to bring your kids. Be a part of something positive.
St. John’s Lutheran Church Willow Creek Lent Worship service begins at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4. The Trinity Lutheran Church will be serving cheesy chicken sandwiches, chips cookies and a beverage from 5:15 to 6:15 pm on Wednesday, March 4, for a free-will donation. The public is welcome. Trinity Lutheran Church welcomes you to let the love of Christ fill you during this Holy Lenten season. The Holden Evening prayer service begins at 6:30 pm.

Lewisville Fun Daze Build-Your-Own-Burger Bash will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, at the Lewisville Legion. Enjoy burgers, salads and desserts for a free-will donation. Proceeds support Lewisville’s 125th anniversary celebration from June 19 to 20. Karaoke starts at 8 p.m.
Fairmont Community Hospital Foundation has announced two scholarship opportunities designed to support students pursuing careers in healthcare: The Emma Rosen Nursing and the Theresa C Smith Radiology scholarships are being accepted. Students who can apply for this scholarship must be in their second year of school, full-time and preference is given to students who graduated from a high school in Martin, Faribault, Jackson Counties or surrounding areas. Easy Automation Inc. is providing a $1,000 scholarship to a student pursuing a degree in a program from Bruce P. Larson’s area of work, who developed the electrical and controls department of EAI. This scholarship is for the 2026-2027 academic year. Students attending a two or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school are eligible.
