CEYLON — The cribbage tournament will begin with registration at 1:15 p.m. today, Feb. 21, and at the Welcome Legion Hall. All cribbage players are welcome to join the fun.

Our Savior’s Lutheran Church will have their Saturday evening communion service at 5:30 p.m. tonight, Feb. 21. They invite area residents to their Bible Study at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesdays.

American Red Cross blood drives will be on Feb. 23 at the St. Paul’s Community Church in Welcome and Feb. 24 at Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont. Make an appointment, find blood drives in the area and do the RapidPass on the day of your donation to shorten the registration time. Condolences to the family of Rev. Ronald Laue, former Ceylon area resident, who passed away recently. He will be missed.

Lenten Midweek services at area churches continue with the Circle of Faith Parishes meeting for 6 p.m. dinner and 7 p.m. service on Wednesday, Feb. 25 at Waverly Lutheran Church, north of Welcome. St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wilbert will host their partner church members from Sherburn’s St. John’s for a 6 p.m. service followed by a cooperative lunch. St. Luke’s Catholic Church will have services at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 25. Their partner churches in Jackson and Lakefield will have evening services.

Coffee Lovers meet from 8:30 to 10 a.m. each Thursday at the back room of the Lake Belt Bar and Grill in Ceylon. Area residents are welcome to join them for coffee and fellowship.

The Friendship Club from St. John’s Church in Sherburn will meet to watch the movie “A Man Called Otto” at 1:30 p.m. on March 2 at the church. Bring a snack to pass. Area seniors are invited. Membership at St. John’s is not required.

Township annual meetings are on March 10. These are a genuine grassroots Democracy in Action. Plan to attend.
