CEYLON — Today is Valentine’s Day. The cribbage tournaments continue with registration at 1:15 p.m. today, Feb. 14, and next Saturday, Feb. 21, at the Welcome Legion Hall. All area cribbage players are welcome to join the fun.

St. Peter Lutheran Church will host services for the Circle of Faith parishes at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 15. They will hold their annual meeting following the service. Waverly Lutheran Church has a 10:30 a.m. service in February. Ash Wednesday is Wednesday, Feb. 18, the beginning of the Lenten Season. Area Churches have special services that day. The Circle of Faith parishes will meet at 7 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome. St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wilbert will have a 7:30 p.m. communion service with a cooperative lunch following. Their partner church in Sherburn will have 6 p.m. communion services with a potato bake supper served by the Youth Group following. St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Sherburn will have 8:30 a.m. services, and their partner churches in Jackson and Lakefield will have 5:30 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. services, respectively. Area residents are welcome to join these congregations for services.

Coffee Lovers group meets from 8:30 to 10 a.m. each Thursday at the back room of the Lake Belt Bar and Grill in Ceylon. Area residents are welcome to join them for fellowship.

The CREST Lunch and Learn program about eyesight will be presented at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 18, at the First Lutheran Church in Trimont, followed by a lunch. These programs are free to the senior citizens in Martin County. CREST appreciates a free-will donation.

American Red Cross blood drives are on Feb. 20 at the American Legion in Fairmont, Feb. 23 at the St. Paul’s Community Church in Welcome and Feb. 24 at Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont. Make an appointment, find blood drives in the area and do the RapidPass on the day of your donation to shorten the registration time. There is a critical need for blood now, so give if you are eligible (age 16-plus, weigh 110-plus pounds and are in good health). Thank you.
