WELCOME — Next week is February already.

The Welcome City Council is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. on Feb. 3 at the City Hall. All members are urged to attend. There is always time at the beginning of each meeting for public comments and questions. To be on the regular agenda, please contact the City Hall prior to the meeting date at (507) 728-8740.

The Circle of Faith parishes will have February services at 9 a.m. on Sundays at St.Peter Lutheran Church in Ceylon and 10:30 a.m. services at Waverly Lutheran Church, north of Welcome. Waverly will have their annual meeting on Feb. 8 after services and the St. Peter congregation will have their annual meeting on Feb. 15 after services. St. Paul’s Community Church in Welcome has services at 9:30 a.m. on Sundays. Area residents are welcome to join any of these churches for services.

American Red Cross blood drives will be today, Jan. 30 in Truman, Feb. 5 and 6 in Jackson, Feb. 9 at the Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center in Trimont, and Feb. 10 and 11 at the Best Western in Fairmont. There is a critical need for blood now so give if you are eligible (age 16-plus, weigh 110-plus and are in good health). Each donation of blood may save three lives.
