SHERBURN — This is the last week of January, so most of the news is for February dates. The Sherburn City Council will meet at 5 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2, at the City Hall. There is always a time for public comments and questions at the beginning of each meeting. Condolences to the family of Dale Burtch and Deb Tauer from Sherburn, who passed away recently. They will be missed by family and friends.

American Red Cross blood drive will be from 1 to 6 p.m. on Feb. 9 at the Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center in Trimont. There will also be blood drives on Feb. 10 and 11 at the Best Western in Fairmont. The Martin County West (MCW) athletes are scheduled for games and meets. The girls hockey team will travel to Windom at 7 p.m. on Jan. 29. The boys basketball team will host Alden Conger at Sherburn at 7 p.m. on Jan. 29. The gymnastics team will host Worthington and multiple schools at the Fairmont Armory at 6 p.m. on Jan. 29. The girls basketball team is scheduled to play at Nicollet at 5:45 p.m. on Jan. 30. The wrestling team will meet at Maple River at 10 a.m. on Jan. 31. The gymnastics team will meet at Worthington at 11 a.m. on Jan. 31. The girls hockey team will meet at Princeton at 3 p.m. on Jan. 31. The gymnastics team will meet at Luverne at 6 p.m. on Feb. 2. The boys hockey team will go to Windom at 7 p.m. for a game on Feb. 2. The boys’ basketball team will host USC in Sherburn on February 3 at 7 p.m. Good luck, Mavericks.
