Seasons set to close in Trimont
ABOVE: Seasons Healthcare at 303 Broadway Avenue S. in Trimont is set to permanently close on Feb. 6.
TRIMONT– In less than two weeks, Seasons Healthcare, a 31 bed skilled nursing facility in Trimont, will permanently close. The parent company, Partners Senior Living Options, said that ongoing staffing shortages, unfunded state and federal mandates and newly implemented state rate caps have made continuing operations no longer viable.
Patrice Goette, Administrator of Seasons Healthcare, said that Partners Senior Living Options had purchased the facility from the city of Trimont in 2017 after two years of managing the facility, at which time the name changed from Trimont Health Care Center to Seasons Healthcare. However, the facility has stood as a senior living facility in Trimont for over half a century.
She said the process of closing the facility has been emotional for everyone, including residents, family members and staff.
“Many community members have reached out and have been supportive of the facility, as they have been since it opened in Trimont in 1963,” Goette said.
Seasons Healthcare is currently the only senior living facility in the Trimont community.
As for where the residents and staff will go, Goette said, “All the residents have or are in the process of relocating to other facilities in the area. Staffing has decreased as the resident population and need has changed with the relocating process.”
A press release put out prior by the parent company said that meetings were held with residents and their families to provide detailed information about the closure process and that Seasons Healthcare is assisting with all aspects of the transition at no cost to residents or their family.
“The staff at Seasons Healthcare have been wonderful and caring, making sure that the residents were comfortable and had opportunities to talk about the moves they were going to make,” Goette said. “Change is not easy and we took that into consideration when working through this process.”
The press release also said Seasons Healthcare is partnering with local resources to help employees find new job opportunities and providing resources to assist them through the change.
According to its website, in addition to Seasons Healthcare, the parent company has 12 other assisted living or skilled nursing facilities, all in Minnesota.
The facility is set to close on Feb. 6 and as per the press release, they are working closely with county and state authorities to ensure full compliance with all regulations governing facility closures in order to complete the process in a safe and orderly manner.
