Ruby’s Pantry distribution on Jan. 19

SHERBURN — The Welcome Legion will have the Cribbage Tournament beginning with registration at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 17. All area cribbage players are welcome to join the afternoon of fun.

The Sherburn Theatre will be on a one month hiatus. No movies will be shown. Watch for news in March or late February.

The Circle of Faith Parishes will meet at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 18 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome followed by Trinity’s Annual meeting and at First Lutheran Church in Trimont at 10:30 a.m. First Lutheran will host the CREST Lunch and Learn on Wednesday, Jan. 21. St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn will have their 8 a.m. service and Sunday School following and their partner church in Wilbert will have 10 a.m. service. The St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Sherburn will have Saturday services at 5 p.m. Area residents are welcome to join any of these congregations for worship.

Ruby’s Pantry grocery distribution will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 19 at the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn. There are no residential or income guidelines for the trunkful of groceries, which costs $25.

The Martin County West (MCW) Schools will be dismissing early on Friday, Jan. 23 which is the end of the second quarter of school. The athletes are busier than ever this month.

On Jan. 15 The gymnastics team will travel to Windom and the wrestling team will travel to Marshall at 5 p.m. The boys basketball team will play in Sherburn vs Loyola at 7 p.m. On Jan. 16 the girls hockey team will play at Morris at 7 p.m. and the girls basketball team will play at Sherburn vs Cleveland at 7 p.m. On Jan. 17 the Magic Gymnastics team will travel to Jackson and the wrestling team will travel to Wabasso for a 10 a.m. meet. The boys basketball team will play multiple schools at the Red Rock High School beginning at 10 a.m. On Jan. 20 the Magic Gymnastics team will meet Waseca at the Fairmont Armory at 6 p.m. The girls hockey team will travel to Luverne for a 7 p.m. game and the girls basketball team will travel to Alden Conger for a 7 p.m. game. The boys hockey team will play at Fairmont Arena at 7 p.m. Good luck, Mavericks.
