SHERBURN — The St. John’s Lutheran Ladies LWML group will have their Christmas program at 2 p.m. today, Dec. 10. Refreshments served after the program. Celebrate the Reason for the Season- Christ’s Birth. Area women are welcome to join them. Their Partner Church in Wilbert will have their Christmas social at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11 with a salad luncheon and bake and craft table. St. John’s Lutheran Church has a Sunday School program at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 14. St. John’s will have an 8 a.m. service. The call meeting has been changed to Jan. 11 so their partner church in Wilbert will have services at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 14. Advent service will be at 6 p.m. on Dec. 17 at St. John’s, with a meal following, sponsored by the Youth Group. The Circle of Faith parishes will have a Sunday School program at First Lutheran Church in Trimont on Dec. 14 at 10:30 a.m. The other area churches have services at the Regional Worship Center at 10 a.m. on Sundays and St. Luke’s Catholic Church has 10:30 a.m. Sunday services during December. All area residents are welcome to join these congregations for services.

The Sherburn Legion will have their Steak and Shrimp night from 5 to 8 p.m on Saturday, Dec. 13.

Glenn Henriksen will perform Christmas songs from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 14 at the Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center in Trimont.

The Sherburn Theatre will feature “Zootopia 2” with at 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 12 and Saturday, Dec. 13 and at 4 p.m. on Sunday. Dec. 14. Tickets are $5 and a concession stand is available. The movie for the following weekend will be “David”.

Condolences to the families of Cory Iverson and Elaine Anderson who passed away recently. They will be missed by family and friends.

A Ruby’s Pantry grocery distribution will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 15 at the parking lot of the Regional Worship Center, south of Interstate 90 in Sherburn. $25 will get a trunk full of groceries with no residential or income guidelines.

The Sherburn City Council meeting and a public hearing concerning the Liquor Store will be at 6 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 15. Note the later time for the Council meeting.

The Trimont Band will perform at 7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 15 following the 4:30 p.m. Farmers’ Market at the Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center in Trimont.

The Martin County West (MCW) School Board has a meeting at 6 p.m. on Dec. 15 at the Sherburn Elementary School.

The Mayo Mobile Clinic will be available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Dec. 15 and Dec. 17 near the City Hall in Sherburn. Call the appointment number at (507) 238-8500 and mention Sherburn Clinic.

The Welcome Santa Day will be from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 14, at the Welcome Legion Hall. Ceylon’s Santa Day will be from 1 to 3 p.m. on Dec. 20. Plan to attend.

A CREST Lunch and Learn will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Dec. 17 at the First Lutheran Church in Trimont, with a lunch to follow the Christmas Bingo program. These are free to senior citizens in Martin County. CREST appreciates a free-will donation for the lunch.

The MCW Athletic Department has the Wrestling team at Fairmont vs Blue Earth at 5 p.m. on Dec. 11. The Girls Basketball team will meet at 7 p.m. Dec. 11 in Sherburn and will play MVL. The Boys Basketball team will meet at 7 p.m. on Dec. 12 in St. Clair. The Wrestling Team will participate in an invitational at 9:45 a.m. on Dec. 13 in Jackson. The Girls Basketball will play at Sherburn vs Nicollet at 7 p.m. on Dec. 15. The Boys Basketball team will play 7 p.m. on Dec, 16 in Alden Conger. The Hockey team will play at 7 p.m. on Dec. 16 in Fairmont against Redwood Valley. Good luck, Mavericks. The MCW schools will have an early dismissal on Dec. 19 for an afternoon teacher’s workshop. School will resume on Jan. 2, 2026.
