Truman Active Living to meet

TRUMAN — Nov. 11 is Veterans Day. Our Veterans, Our Heroes, we salute their bravery. Thank you for protecting the freedom we enjoy. On Veterans Day, the U.S. Postal Service, federal and state offices and banks are closed.

The Truman Active Living Group welcomes the public’s attendance at their meetings, held on the second Tuesday of the month. The next meeting is at 10 am on Tuesday, Nov. 11, at the Truman Historical Museum.

Lutheran Social Services of Minnesota in partnership with Heartland Senior Living in Truman are coordinating the local Meals on Wheels program. Call (507) 776-2031 and ask Holly for more information or sign up for the program. Meals help older adults maintain good health while living at home. Through LSS Meals on Wheels, a part of the national Meals on Wheels network, it provides hot, nutritious meals paired with a friendly visit and safety check for Minnesotans aged 60 and older.

In celebration of Americas 250th birthday in 2026, the Truman Fire Department will bring back fireworks in July 2026. Truman FD will organize and collect funds to put on the display. If you would like to contribute to this, make checks to the Truman Fire Department Relief Association and in the memo line, write “fireworks”. There will also be an account set up at Profinium Bank if you would prefer to deposit funds there. Please remember that a donation can also be made as a memorial. Please indicate if you want your donation to go as a memorial.
